Welcome to the Website of Ware Badminton Club.

We are one of the Premier Badminton Clubs in Hertfordshire playing at Wodson Park in Ware. A number of our players play for Hertfordshire County in either the full County side, the Veterans or as Juniors.

We run eight teams in both the Herts County League and the Hertford Area League so there are plenty of opportunities for competitive play, always with feather shuttles. Match nights are on Wednesdays from 7–10pm and on Sundays from 6–9pm.

The club is also proud to have a thriving club night on a Wednesday night from 8–10pm at Wodson Park. A number of clubs function as purely a match club but we pride ourselves on the social side of badminton holding a number of social events throughout the year. This includes Club Tournaments in Mixed, Mens and Ladies doubles.

New players of Area League standard upwards are always welcome to come along as visitors to the club. Just contact any of the members of the Committee for an introduction and come and join us.

Please note, we are not a club for beginers and would expect any new member to be of team standard.

The Club runs 8-10pm on Wednesdays at Wodson Park Sports Centre (see details below). We reserve 2 courts for club night use.

The 2011/12 Club runs from 7th Sep 2011 until 25th Apr 2012 with adult fees of £140 (£130 if paid before 20th Sep 2011) (£40 for juniors) and this will include Badminton England and County Fees. If you are not a member of Wodson Park Sports Centre you also need to pay an entry fee to reception whenever you attend club night (£1 at time of writing).

Guests

The general situation is that someone can guest a few times (the guest fee is £5 per night (£2.50 for juniors)) at which time they will be asked to make a formal application to join Ware Badminton Club; the Committee will then review the application at the earliest opportunity and get back to the applicant. There are various situations that might arise at that time e.g. an immediate offer to join, being put on a waiting list, an invitation to attend a few more club nights as a guest or a suggestion to get some more experience (we have sister clubs we can recommend that are excellent for this). Guests cannot play in league teams.
